Oaklands Association Membership
History is brought
to life every day at Oaklands Historic House Museum. Visitors
to Oaklands experience life at an 1860s
plantation home, and leave with a deeper appreciation and
knowledge of antebellum Middle Tennessee. The main objective
of the museum is to provide visitors of all ages with an
opportunity to learn about and appreciate the important history
of Oaklands and of the community of Murfreesboro.
Please help
us meet that objective by becoming a member of Oaklands Association.
Your membership is an investment in our
community's past, present, and future because it provides
Oaklands the support needed to preserve, restore, and interpret
a truly unique and significant link to our past. There are
precious few opportunities to join in the preservation of
our community‚s heritage, and an Oaklands membership
is one important way to participate. Because the Association
is a
self-supporting entity responsible for raising all funding
necessary to maintain and administer the museum, your membership
is a vital part of our continued success.
The year 2007 will
be an exciting and busy one at Oaklands. The Visitors Center
allows us to better accommodate our organizational
and visitor needs, and to serve the community as a rental
facility. Among the functions planned this year are several
events for
Oaklands members, as well as a variety of educational activities
such as Day Camp and Free Day in May. The annual Candlelight
Tour of Homes and the Christmas Gala will close out the year.
The Oaklands membership, Board of Trustees, and staff thank
you for your consideration. We hope that you will support
